Didn’t see the Boston Bruins demolish the Ottawa Senators 7-2 at the Garden earlier this afternoon? Well, you didn’t miss much. The Bruins outplayed the Senators. Plain and simple. It also appears that the B’s defense can get the job done sans Zdeno Chara. The Bruins are clearly too good to take games off–even if the Sochi Winter Olympics are right around the corner.

The Whole Bruins’ Squad Wanted to Win

You could name numerous Bruins players that had a positive impact in this one, especially Patrice Bergeron. Bergeron totaled two goals and one assist with three points overall. He was skating with intention for the B’s.

Jarome Iginla, David Krejci, and Milan Lucic were other notable figures for the Bruins in this contest. Each of these players utilized his skills set to the best of his ability. Krejci was a playmaker, recording two nice assists and creating several quality opportunities. Lucic and Iginla buried a goal each and were continuously hounding Senators goalkeeper Craig Anderson

Eriksson, Rask Among Bruins Traveling to Sochi

Many people know that Chara had already left for Sochi prior to the Senators’ game. He isn’t the only Bruin that will be participating in the Sochi Olympics however. Loui Eriksson will fight to make his presence know in a stacked Swedish national team lineup. Tuukka Rask will battle for the Finnish starting goalie spot against Dallas Stars’ goalie Kari Lehtonen and San Jose Sharks’ goalie Antti Niemi. Bergeron will be one of many talented Canadian forwards. Even though the Czech Republic displays some fine players, Krejci may end up becoming a key man for his country because he will be given a great deal of rink space in Russia.

Expect at least one of these Bruins’ players to make a significant impact for his national team. Olympic hockey in Sochi will be amazing.
