The Bruins have been playing .500 hockey in January. While there is no doubt the intensity is there, the Bruins have been unable to play a full sixty minute game. That has caused the Bruins to drop three of their last four games, and the Bruins are trying to find their game before they head back on the road to take on the Dallas Stars and the Chicago Blackhawks. (Boston Bruins)
On the subject of the Stars, Tyler Seguin has appeared to clean up his act since becoming a member of the Dallas organization last July 4th. In fact, members of the Stars organization think Seguin is a model player and person and blame the Bruins and Boston in general for not helping squash the “rumors” that Seguin was an unleashed party animal and an unprofessional hockey player. The Boston Bruins are in need of a defenseman to take the place of Dennis Seidenberg who is out for the season. Mark Stuart’s name has been put up by multiple publications (this one inclusive) to fill in for the remainder of the season. On the subject of trades the Edmonton Oilers have been making big trades in order to solve their problems. Oilers goaltender Devan Dubnyk heads to Nashville, and they acquire Ben Scrivens from the Los Angeles Kings. The Oilers have been struggling this season, and even the leadership of ex-Bruin Andrew Ference can’t help make things right.(NHL)
The Bruins have been battling serious injuries for six weeks now. While this piece is a little dated it shows how long and how hard the Bruins have been battling to stay atop the Atlantic Division under such tough circumstances. (CSNNE)
