Let’s see if the lads over at the Department of Player Safety get this one right… Last night in the Bruins/Panthers game,  Panthers’ forward Jesse Winchester just hauls off and nails Bruins center Chris Kelly in the jaw with his elbow.  The Bruins have been the recipients of several missed calls that should have been in their favor, and once again the refs didn’t disappoint. No call was made against Panther for that head hit. Here’s the hit again. (NBC)

On a positive note, Brad Marchand finally got back in a scoring mood tonight, scoring one of four goals and the Boston Bruins made quick work against the Florida Panthers tonight at the TD Garden. Final Score: Bruins 4, Panthers 1. (Boston Bruins)

Here’s the look from the other side of the fence. Got to love it when the reporter asks if the players are now playing for the coaches job in Sunrise. (Florida Panthers)

Speaking of what’s missing in Sunrise, Comcast New England takes a look at Tim Thomas, and where Thomas ends up in the lore of the Boston Bruins. He’s still pretty high up there in my pantheon of modern Bruins greats. (CSNNE)

On a similar note, the folks over at Bleacher Report take a look at the same Tim Thomas, and wonder if the fan base and the organization may be going a little too hard on the goaltender who stood on his head for us to bring Boston its first Stanley Cup in nearly four decades. (Bleacher Report)

Just when you think Boston Bruins fans can be overly rambunctious, we can be thankful we’re not fans of the Chicago Blackhawks. A few Blackhawks fans mugged the Winnipeg Jets’ Adam Pardy after the BHawks’ Dave Bollig put him through the glass. One fan steals Pardy’s helmet while another pours beer on him. I’m sure the Blackhawks front office chuckled for five seconds, and then got their PR department working on the apology. More about that mess here. (Pro Hockey Talk)
