Oct 5, 2013; Boston, MA, USA; Boston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara (33) throws his stick to fans after he is announced as the game
Bruins captain Zdeno Chara has been a monster on the ice for us. He’s 36 now, and head coach Claude Julien has made a point to cut back his minutes. It makes sense and all, with the Bruins now having a talent pool of aggressive two way blueliners in the club. Here is an opinion piece that argues that maybe the Bruins should cut back Chara’s minutes even more. (Bleacher Report)
It just seems to keep raining on the heads of the New York Rangers, they are off to a terrible start, Alain Vigneault will likely be the next coached to be fired, and the team has had to dig deep into their AHL talent pool in an attempt to right a very bad listing ship. Here’s a quick sampling of what the Rangers are trying to do. (Pro Hockey Talk)
Nathan McKinnon has been compared often to Sidney Crosby. Tonight, he’ll find out exactly how well he stacks up against the future Hall of Famer. Both teams are 7-1-0, and it should be a rather titanic match up. (AP)
With the departure of Tyler Seguin, it can be argued that the Bruins presence on social media has declined. (With the stuff Seguin put up, it might be a good thing.) The players of the Tampa Bay Lightning however, have had a bust week in social media. They might be a fair example to the other teams on how to get their players involved the right way .(Bolts By The Bay)
At the moment, I am the only undefeated team in my ESPN fantasy hockey league. The NHL Fantasy site gives me a lot of tools and information to see the trends in players on teams I wouldn’t normally watch. Thanks to the their material, I’m often able to see who is going to be on fire in the near future, and make the right trades or grab a good player on waivers. Give it a look, you’ll like what you see. (NHL)
