The NBC network released it’s schedule of televised games for the 2013-14 season yesterday. Once again the network has gone out of its way to seriously baffle hockey fans. (Although for members of Bruins Nation, we seem to have done OK.) With respect to my colleagues who work for other teams on the network here, I think some of you got a gift way beyond your teams’ ability, and everyone in the Pacific Division got ignored. I just got to wonder this: If Bettman was really trying to push a franchise in the Seattle market, it couldn’t have hurt to have put, I don’t know, more than five games out of the entire set for that market?
I seriously don’t understand how they do it. Maybe the Philadelphia Flyers will have a better season this year, but I can’t see how they ended up with thirty games on the combined NHL networks. I wonder if I can get a subscription to TSN all the way down here in Rhode Island. At least, I’ll get to watch a lot more hockey.
Down below is the listing of all the games for the Boston Bruins covered by the NBC, NBC Sports Network, and the NHL Network. Thankfully, we’ve got NESN to cover the gaps.
