The Baby B’s continue to roll down the stretch run. The JV squad is sitting on the best record in the AHL at 41-20-5. Not bad for a group that started off in the basement this season.
Ryan Spooner continues to lead the way with an impressive 34 assists and 47 points through 51 games. Torey Krug has made some major adjustments, rifling up the stat sheet with 10 goals and 24 assists through 55 contests. The inspired play has earned both players well deserved, albeit brief, call-ups in recent weeks. Jamie Tardiff and Craig Cunningham are also duking it out for the lead in goals with 27 and 23 respectively. FOr the rough and tumble crowd, Bobby Robbins is closing in on the 300 penalty minute mark.
In between the pipes, the Svedish Svedsation, Niklas Svedberg continues to dominate the opposition, posting a 32-7 record. Three shutouts contribute to his 2.24 GAA and .923 save %. Michael Hutchinson has also lowered his GAA to a respectable 2.43.
With just 16 games to go, this squad seems poised to build momentum during the stretch run and cash in on some valuable playoff experience this spring.
