The Bruins signed four young players to contracts today:
- F- Jordan Caron
- Caron, 19, played this season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), where he totaled 26 goals and 27 assists for 53 points in 43 games. Caron, who is listed as 6’2” and 202 pounds, was drafted by the Bruins as the 25th overall pick in the 2009 NHL Draft.
- F- Joe Colborne
- Colborne, who is probably the most anticipated of the bunch, played this season with the University of Denver, where he tallied 22 goals and 19 assists for 41 points. Denver lost in their matchup with the Rochester Institute of Technology in the NCAA Tournament. Colborne, 20, was drafted by the Bruins as the 16th overall pick in the 2008 NHL Draft.
- G- Michael Hutchinson
- Though the need for a young goaltender isn’t exactly at the top of the organization’s needs list, Hutchinson gives the organization some depth. The 20-year-old played this season in the Ontario Hockey League, where he had a 2.86 GAA. His team is currently in the second round of the playoffs of the before-mentioned league. Hutchinson was drafted by the Bruins in the third round (77th overall) of the 2008 NHL Draft.
- D- Steve Kampfer
- Kampfer, 21, was acquired from Anaheim right before the trade deadline in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick. Kampfer, who was drafted in the fourth round of the 2007 NHL Draft, played for the University of Michigan this season.
