According to reports, Patrice Bergeron is expected to miss two to six weeks with a thumb injury. Bergeron was hit in the hand by a Dennis Wideman shot in Monday night’s loss to the New York Rangers.
The 24-year-old, who leads the Bruins in scoring this season, is scheduled to see a specialist Tuesday evening to further clarify the timetable for his return. Bergeron may not only miss time for the Bruins, but he may no longer be able to compete as a member of Team Canada in next month’s Olympic games in Vancouver.
