I'm an insane Bruinsfanatic from California :) I have been asked by several people, why the Boston Bruins are my favorite Hockey team, seeing as how I was born and raised in California. People seem to be surprised that my favorite Hockey team is the Bruins, rather than the Kings or Ducks. Why are the Bruins my favorite team? Well, I’m more than happy to answer that question…. My father was born and raised in Connecticut, and has been a Bruins fan since he was young. He has such a passion and love for Hockey, watching him root and cheer, yell, get angry, and sometimes, even throwing straight out temper tantrums, I became intrigued. How could all of that, not peak someone’s interest? I used to sit there in awe, as he told stories about Bobby Orr, one of the greatest, if not the greatest Hockey player of all time, thus far, in my opinion. Now, he very well may have made some of the stories up, or at the very least, exaggerated to some extent, but he definitely got the game sold. A new Bruins fan was born! Not only do I love and appreciate the Bruins players’ passion for the game, their team work and comradery, I love the fire that they bring, from the very second, that they glide onto the ice. They have this ‘fire’ about them, which I simply do not see, within the other teams. Perhaps, I am being biased, you might say? After all, I grew up following my Dad’s love for the game, but I know a great team when I see one. The Bruins have a little bit of everything. Each player brings a different talent, or several different talents, to the table. Sure, all of the Hockey teams have a mixture of different talents, but it’s the mixture of talents between the Bruins teammates, that bring it to a whole other level. Between their passion, quickness, physicality, skill and determination, they stand out above the rest, in my opinion. Shannon Navarro
