Boston Bruins Center David Krejci Disappointed Team Failed To Sign Loui Eriksson

When the Boston Bruins went into this off-season their chances of re-signing forward Loui Eriksson were slim to none with is price skyrocketing out of the Bruins comfort zone. The loss of Eriksson hurt the Bruins, especially now that they failed to convince a Boston are native Jimmy Vesey to come to Boston and play in their top 6.

Eriksson’s line mate for a good chunk of his team here was center David Krecji who spoke on Monday to the media about the team missing out on Vesey not being a big deal, but the loss of Loui is still a fresh wound for Krecji.

"I was more disappointed we weren’t able to keep Loui."

It is worth noting that Eriksson is not the first key line mate of Krecji’s to leave the team in the last three seasons, first it Nathan Horton, then Jarome Iginla, Milan Lucic, and now Eriksson. The impact of losing players the second your second best center gains chemistry with them is a risky tactic from a management perspective.

"I felt like we had some good chemistry going, so that was kind of a tough time to see [Eriksson] go, but I’ve gotten kind of used to seeing my favorite guys going away — Milan, Nathan, Iggy,” Krejci said. “I’m going to have to just play my game and try to find chemistry with whoever’s going to be on my line."

The Bruins Haven’t Done David Krecji Any Favors

Krejci’s quote to the media is all business, a perfect response but him mentioning his favorite teammates leaving is interesting. I think he is pissed that he keeps on losing his key linemates, linemates he has witnessed have 30+ goal seasons and still are gone sooner rather than later. At this point it isn’t hard to imagine that Krejci might be fed up with Bruins management and in particular GM Don Sweeney and Team President Cam Neely.

Just speculation but his line has had quite the bit of change over the last several seasons, which being a top 6 line is a scary thing with the direction and future of the Bruins franchise. Krejci has the right to be mad, on the outside he can act like a professional but he is human. Who knows maybe changing his line up will make him want to waive his no movement clause one day for a trade.
