What’s Bruin? The Boston Bruins Visit with an Old Friend and Face a Difficult Match-Up
The Boston Bruins are taking some time off this week for the all-star break. After losing their last game in a shootout against the Colorado Avalanche on January 21st, the team – and all of Bruins’ Nation – is looking to turn things around and get back on a winning streak. After having no games for the last seven days, there’s hope that the Bruins will be well rested and eager to grab four more points before month’s end.
Tune in on Sunday January, 25th at 5pm EST to see Patrice Bergeron and Team Toews take on Team Folignio at the NHL All-Star Game.
On Thursday, January 29th at 7pm EST, the Bruins will be traveling to Long Island, NY to take on the Islanders and visit with an old friend – and fan favorite – Johnny Boychuk. This is the teams’ second meeting since Boychuck was traded to the Islanders. Unfortunately, the first didn’t go in the B’s favor as they fell to the Islanders 3-2. They did however, make an impressive effort with some quality hits, two goals and 37 total shots on goal – including a friendly reminder for Johnny Boychuk from friend Milan Lucic that there is no place for “friends” on the ice.
Next up, the Bruin’s will head home to welcome the LA Kings for their second match of the season on Saturday, January 31st at 7pm EST. The B’s are looking to close out the month with a win, but it won’t come easily. Although the Kings have fallen in the rankings lately, they are a powerful team with some elite players. But if any team can do it, a healthy and playoff-focused Boston Bruins team can.
To start the week off right, be sure to tune in to the NHL All-Star Game and root for Patrice Bergeron and all of Team Toews, Sunday, January 25th at 5pm EST.
