Pre-Game Warm-Ups

Today the Boston Bruins face off against the Carolina Hurricanes for the second meeting of the season. In the first meeting of the season the Boston Bruins were on their best month of hockey this season and were able to skate away with a 2-1 victory. Between the pipes for Carolina we would see a familiar face as Anton Khudobin got the nod.  Through 11 starts he holds a 1-8-2 record,  2.71 GAA and .926 save percentage. Opposite him in net for the Bruins Claude opted to give Tuukka Rask another start, helping him work on his .909 save percentage.

The lines are the same as they were against the Ottawa Senators with Matt Bartkowksi and Jordan Caron the healthy scratches for the team as Adam McQuaid suits up for his second game back from injury.

Prior to the game Claude Julien spoke to the media and was asked what areas Milan Lucic needs to improve:

“His whole game. We know how he can play. We’d like to see him do more than he’s done.  [Lucic] plays important minutes for us. We need more. He’s got to be capable of more than 1 measly shot [in a game].”

When Lucic was asked he simply stated;

“I feel like I’ve done too much talking about explaining things. Enough with the talking and  it’s time to start playing way I can.”

With Peter Chiarelli and Cam Neely along for the trip to Carolina, the writing could very well be on the wall for Lucic if he doesn’t start turning things around and performing at a better pace that suits his salary.

Fun Fact: Seth Griffith is celebrating his twenty-second birthday today.
