Boston Bruins Doused in Ice for a Cause

The ice-bucket challenge has been observed all around the web, some may call it viral, and the Boston Bruins have took the challenge to another level with several players participating in the task: Gregory Campbell, Brad Marchand, Torey Krug, Chris Kelly, Matt Bartkowski, Patrice Bergeron, Johnny Boychuk, Milan Lucic, Dennis Seidenberg, Daniel Paille and Dougie Hamilton.

Originally, Campbell took the challenge from former Boston College baseball player Pete Frates, who is battling ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).

Campbell used what looked like a small trash barrell filled with ice, and the challenge is pretty straigforward, dump a bunch of ice cold water over your head.

Then, he passed the test onto Marchand, noting that the 26-year-old has 24 hours to complete it. Marshy didn’t disappoint, getting two buckets of water poured on his head in an Instagram video (below). Marchand nominated Krug, Kelly, and others.

Krug accepted the challenge, and filmed himself on a rink, adding arena frost/snow to the ice bucket. He nominated Lucic and Bartkowski.

Lucic dumped two bags of ice on himself, having a quaint lake backdrop for his short video.

It wasn’t just Boston athletes that showed their support. Boston mayor Marty Walsh took part in challenge as well.
