It looks like Matt Bartkowski will be getting a little more comfortable in that Bruins uniform. Bartkowski who sat out nine of the last ten games as a healthy scratch will be in the line up against the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight. Bartkowski will be in for injured defenseman Adam McQuaid who suffered some sort of groin or leg injury last week in the game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Bartkowski has played five games to date for the Boston Bruins. He has two assists, a +/- of -1 and nine shots on goal. While Bartkowski has slogged out some endurance minutes in the AHL Bruins, playing extended time in the NHL will be a solid test for the blueliner. So far, he’s done a fine job and will likely be skating often with Johnny Boychuk and Dennis Seidenberg. It’s one of those things that will test his confidence and on-ice maturity, but it looks as if he’s up to the task.

So it looks like McQuaid will be out for another week or so. McQuaid did not participate in this morning’s practice, although he did work out at the TD Garden.
