September’s finally here. For the Bruins it means getting back to the full routine of practices. It’s only two weeks before the Boston Bruins start their pre-season with a match against long time rivals the Montreal Canadiens. (I’m sure they will have the springboard installed for Subban.)

The Bruins rookie camp starts in just three days. The Bruins rookie squad will have potential Bruins like Malcolm Subban. (He’s got all the talent of PK, but when our Subban dives on the ice, he’s making a save for the team.) Two days later, Bruins training camp officially starts as all our favorite members of the Black and Gold make an effort to get back on the squad that got all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals last year.

Opening night is thirty two days away. For a lot of us, it’s not just a matter of watching another banner rise in the TD Garden. It’s about Bruins Nation getting to watch another year of history and tradition unfold. We’ll get to see Lucic check someone into the boards so hard, it shatters the ice (again). We’ll get to see Tuukka prove to the rest of the NHL why he deserves the Vezina this year. We’ll get to see Brad Marchand be his old chirpy, bratty self (and quite likely lead the team in scoring.)

We’ll also get to finally see who gets the second assistant captain position. (I’d like to see it go to Thornton personally.) Finally, we’ll get to see our current standing assistant captain cement his reputation. This year will Patrice Bergeron’s tenth year in the spoked ‘B’. He’s already earned the privilege of having his number added to the rafters once he’s retired. This year, it’s just adding a little more icing to the cake.

It’s almost October folks.
