The National Hockey League Players Association has been a driving force to keep the players that are on the ice safe and well taken care of. (We’ve had four work stoppages to prove it.) The NHLPA also has a commitment to players who skated long ago as well. A few days ago, the NHLPA announced they would increase the amount of money that would give to the Senior Retired Players fund an additional million dollars. The NHLPA are now donating six million dollars a year to the fund.  It’s another amazing thing about the sport. These players inspired today’s superstars to become what they are. It’s just a pity that they made less in an entire season than some of the current stars make in a single game [NHLPA website]

The never ending disaster which is the Pheonix, er Arizona Coyotes continues with a vehemence that refuses to die. With just days before the deal to finally have an owner that isn’t the league itself, there appears to be a snag in the financing. The last thing the NHL needs is for Gary Bettman to continue to have a proxy vote in the owners’ meetings. [Pro Hockey Talk]

Puck Daddy decides once again to besmirch the storied reputation of the Boston Bruins franchise(in my opinion) by rolling off an international litany of players that have worn the Black and Gold. Feel free to take a look at the glaring omissions and feel free to express your distaste [Puck Daddy]

Our friends over at Octopus Thrower, the FanSided site for the Detroit Red Wings talks about how the Wings like to keep a steady focus on their centers [Octopus Thrower]

Finally, the Boston Bruins continue its Bear Tracks escapade with another day in the life of our newest Bruin, Jerome Iginla. It’s part of the Bruins trek across western Canada to see how the Bruins are getting ready in the off season [Boston Bruins home site] (We’ll really need to thank Andrew Ference for talking Iginla into signing with Boston.)
