The Boston Bruins had their final skate today at Ristuccia. The owners have voted to lock out the players on midnight Sunday, and short of the NHLPA giving in and surrendering to the owners, the lockout will happen. Some of the players are making plans, and other players are being vocal. Bruins captain Zdeno Chara reflected on the impending lockout. I think it’s going to take a long time for both sides to think about things. We’ll go from there. It’s one of those things that goes day by day. We’ll see what will be new tomorrow or the day after that. But as of right now, both sides know it’s not going to be the start of training camp. We’ll see where it goes from there.”

Dennis Seidenberg could go home to play hockey in Germany with his younger brother Yannic. David Krejci is looking into playing back home in the Czech Republic. Tim Thomas is going from someone who went a little flaky to a man who saw what was coming and was brave enough to take the first step out.  What about Providence? How many players will make the attempt to hang around the area and play a little in the AHL?

Tyler Seguin could do it. He believes he will be eligible to play in Providence. Seguin is still on his entry-level, two way contract.  Seguin has appeared in 155 career NHL games. Tyler would require waivers to play, but with his skill at the NHL level, it would be foolhardy to the point of insanity to give him a year in Providence. While # 19 has made no official decision on the temporary move down the street, I’d say it’s a simple answer. He’s young enough, he’s good enough, and gosh darn it, people like him.

I’ll assume some players will go to Canada, some players will keep their skills up, and I only guess that Andrew Ference , Milan Lucic, and Shawn Thornton will try their hand at MMA.

Looks like instead of getting another jersey this year, I’ll be spending that money on a Playstation 3.  I think I’ll buy myself a copy of NHL 13. I know I’m going to make Bettman my goalie. He’s shut down more offensive plays than anyone else will in the crease this season(Assuming we have a season.).
