BIG Sigh – Game Recap

The Bruins go down in a 6-1 loss against Tampa Bay.
A third Straight loss.

What are they thinking?

Being outshot …

10-2 in the first period is not the same Black & Gold who took home Lord Stanley’s prized Cup last season.

“That first period is killing us right now” Ya think.

Tim Thomas swapped places with Marty Turco, in the first period of play. They exchanged places twice during the game.

“We made the change and asked Tim to go in there, and then before the second period started…I said [to Thomas], ‘If you can hold the fort for now and we can get ourselves a goal or two then we’ll get ourselves back in the game, but if they get the next goal I’ll pull you.”  And they did. At the end of the night, Turco stopped eight of twelve and Thomas stopped three of five shots.

Things did pick up after that first period of play. The boys pulled up their socks and pulled it together better.

Jordan Caron, scored the lone goal in last 40 minutes of play. Guys that’s just not enough. It’s a whole hockey team out there on the ice for a solid 60 minutes. To have a better game they are going to have to start a better game. Deficits of more than two points coming out of the gate are going to give away points to other teams neadlessly. Stick together on that whole team effort, be positive and look forward. There are 13 games left to play.

If the Ottawa Senators (36-25-9) beat the Montreal Canadiens Wednesday, they can tie the Bruins (40-26-3) with 83 points for the Northeast conference lead.
