Bruins Are A Different Team Vs. Carolina This Time Around

The Boston Bruins travel to Raleigh to take on the Carolina Hurricanes tonight.  It’ll be the third meeting of the year for these teams.  Carolina has won both meetings, the first a 3-2 victory in Carolina back on October 12th and a 4-1 in thumping in Boston over a clearly hungover Stanley Cup Champion Bruins team.  The second loss dropped them to 2-4 on the young season.  But that was October and this is January.  The Bruins finished the month of October just 3-7, but since then have been the hottest team in the NHL, going a ridiculous 25-4-1 in their last 30 games!

The Hurricanes meanwhile are currently 15-23-7 on the season and are without their bright young winger Jeff Skinner.  Skinner’s been out for the last 15 games with a concussion.  It’s been another frustrating season for the Canes as they’ve had one 3-game winning streak and two 2-game winning streaks on the season.  With Skinner suffering from a concussion the Canes have struggled.  They have been able to score without Skinner as they rank 10th in the NHL in Goals For, but somehow Rank 29th in the league in Goals Allowed, even with Cam Ward in net.

Even with Carolina in 15th in the East, they always play the Bruins hard and give them difficulties down low in the  Bruins defensive zone.  If your looking for the Canes perspective definitely head over to CardiacCane.com for the latest.
