Bruins Popular on NHL National TV Schedule

To no one’s surprise, the defending Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins will be prominently featured in the 2011-12 national NHL television schedule, which was announced today. Fourteen Boston games will be broadcast on Versus (four of which will also be on NESN), with three additional games televised on NBC, including NBC’s seasonal kick-off game against Detroit on November 25. NBC also marked four other games as “flex” games, meaning the network could choose to televise those games as well.

The Bruins will also appear on the NHL Network sixteen times, though all of those games will be blacked out and televised only on NESN locally. Boston will play on TV nationally in Canada 16 times.
