Bruins Trade for Ottawa’s Chris Kelly, Raise Even More Questions

The Bruins announced late Tuesday night that they have acquired Chris Kelly from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for a second-round draft pick. While this move seems minor on the surface, especially in comparison to some of the other rumors that have been floating around in previous weeks, it could end up having major implications in how the Bruins approach the rest of their negotiations leading up to the trade deadline.

My initial reaction, like most Bruins fans, is that this can’t be what GM Peter Chiarelli had in mind when he said that he was working on deals. But it will help the Bruins in some capacity. Stay tuned: more to follow.
