The Bruins have re-signed defenseman Johnny Boychuk to a 2 year contract which will pay him between $3.5M-3.75 over the length of the contract.

Boychuk completed the 2009-2010 season, his first full season in the NHL, with 5 goals, 10 assists, for 15 points in 51 games with the Bruins. He played in all 13 playoff games and totalled 2 goals and 4 assists resulting in 6 points.

In other B’s news, the Atlanta Constitution Journal is reporting Bruins assistant coach, Craig Ramsey, has been named the new head coach of the Atlanta Thrashers. Ramsay will be re-joining Thrasher’s general manager, Rick Dudley, who was a teammate of Ramsay’s with the Buffalo Sabres. Ramsay has served as head coach with Philadelphia in 1999-2000 and 2000-2001, and the interim head coach in Buffalo in 1986-1987, amassing a record of 32 wins, 35 losses, 7 ties in 74 games. Ramsay has been an assistant coach in Florida, Ottawa, and Tampa Bay. He has been an assistant with the B’s since August 1, 2007.

From the rumor mill in Los Angeles, where the 30 NHL teams are gearing up for tomorrow night’s draft, rumors are gaining momentum that the Bruins may move center Marc Savard to Toronto for defenseman Thomas Kaberle.
